Information and Rules

  • Please link me and vote for me if you make a doll or use any props on your own site. Link codes are at the bottom of the page.

  • You must be using Internet Explorer or an Internet Explorer based browser such as AOL to use my dollmakers, or you won't be able to move the props.

  • All my dollmakers are of the drag and drop variety so they are easy to use. They will work in later versions of Internet Explorer and Netscape.

  • All the props are from shareware sites and plenty have been edited, recoloured and cropped by me, so please don’t take any for use in your own dollmaker where specified.

  • If you like you can take no more than 100 props (from ALL my dollmakers combined) to use in your own maker, as long as you link me on the maker itself. Also, please don’t take props from the sections of dollmakers where I have specified I made those props myself.

  • Direct linking (or hot linking) of any props is not allowed at any time. If you direct link my props you aren’t being fair on the other people who want to use my dollmakers and can’t because you’re using up all my bandwidth. If you aren’t sure what direct linking is, it’s when you link an image uploaded to my site to show the image on your own site. Direct linking is illegal, however you may direct link my small link buttons. If you want to save props, right click and select Save As.

  • You may use any dolls you make on Neopets.com and Girland.com, or on any similar sites :)
Help and Instructions

If you are interested in recolouring props, animating your dolls, making your backgrounds transparent, making your own drag and drop or similar, please visit the 'Tutorials' section of my site; everything is there :)

Instructions

Using Paint
1. Place items together to create a doll.
2. Press the Print Scrn key, which is next to F12 on most PCs. This is effectively the same as 'copying' the whole screen, and therefore it will look as if nothing's happened.
3. Open up Paint, and press Ctrl and hold down while you press V once, or right-click and Paste.
4. Use the cropping tool (it looks like a dotted rectangle) to draw around your doll.
6. Copy your doll (right-click the mouse in the middle of the rectangle you just made and select Copy).
7. Paste it into a new file (don't save the other one).
8. Save your doll!

Using Paint Shop Pro
1. Place items together to create a doll.
2. Choose File > Import > Screen Capture > Setup.
3. Under the Capture heading, make sure Area is selected, and press Capture now.
4. PSP will then minimise and the dollmaker should show up.
5. Right click your mouse and the cursor should turn into a cross.
6. Draw a box around your doll and then let go.
7. Your image will then show up in PSP, just save it!

Why?

Why don't you have as many/different doll makers as other cartoon doll sites?

For a start blossom.nu isn't a doll site. It has a large section of dollmakers, but then it has large sections of several different things. I think my dollmakers are different because I spend many more hours than other doll site owners cropping, re-colouring, re-drawing and optimising hundreds of props just for you. This decreases the loading time of the makers, and helps you because that way the props don't take up as much space (so I can add more) and are usually of better quality. Also, there are lots of sites out there now that have 40 or 50 different doll makers. This is great if you want lots of variation, but I seem to find that most of these dollmakers have only about 50 props, which limits the dolls you can make a lot. Here at blossom.nu, the amount of props in one dollmaker averages at about 300-400 props (at least!) So you have a lot of choice and combination possibilities with your dolls, even if you don't have as much choice of maker. My dollmakers take about 10 hours to make which is why I don't often get a chance to add a new one, as much as I'd like to. However, it's pretty likely that I'm in the middle of one, or have just put a new one up as you're reading this so keep checking back :)

How can I help?

If you have a website, please link me if you use dolls or props that you got/made here on your own site. Just copy the code underneath the button you want, and paste into a page on your website :)
