Transparent images are useful for thousands of things, including link buttons, layout images, cartoon dolls, blinkies and much more.
Step 1
Make/find the image you want to make transparent. If your image is already saved as a .gif, this may not work unless you copy and paste the image or save as a different file type and reopen.

Step 2
Colour the background in any colour that’s not already used on the picture, using the
. I normally use lime green (#00FF00). Remember not to miss places like the inside of the letter A for example, or between arms.

Step 3
Go to Animation > Replace colour.

Step 4
Make sure the colour you picked before (in my case lime green – #00FF00) has shown up in the first box. Make sure transparent opacity is selected in the second.

Step 5
Click ‘Ok’ and save your image as a .gif.
