Gaussian blur is great for giving soft edges to an image, or to quickly mask slight imperfections or poor quality. It’s best used with photos.
Step 1
Open up your photo in Photoshop.

Step 2
Go to Layer > Duplicate Layer, then press Ok.
Step 3
Now go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur, and set it to about 5 before pressing Ok.
Step 4
Go to Layer > Layer Style > Blending Options, and change the Opacity to about 60% – alter according to your image and your needs.
Step 5
Once you’ve pressed Ok, go to Layer > Flatten Image, and then save.
