Another sign I’m getting old – backache. I woke up with really bad pains yesterday and I thought that it was just how I’d slept. Unfortunately the pain lasted all day and was joined by shooting pains up and down my right leg when I walked. I’ve also managed to lose my grip – literally. I dropped a glass of water on the floor yesterday at work, and it’s hard work to actually keep hold of things.
I thought maybe today would be better following a good night’s sleep, but in fact it’s worse. The pain in the base of my neck is pretty intense, although keeping my back, neck and shoulders at certain angles means I can’t feel the pain unless I move. And the shooting pains have gone, thankfully. I might have to switch to plastic cups though!
One of my mum’s first comments was: ‘You’re not at work are you?’ Yes, of course I was at work. I can still get things done, I just don’t like moving my back. I’ve tried painkillers and they haven’t had any effect so far, but I’ll keep trying. I had plans for Friday and Saturday as it’s weekend here in the UK, but I think I might have to catch up on sleep and spend some time lying and sitting in comfortable positions.
In other news – I’ve decided to create a ‘Comment Ring’ page. Basically, I’ve noticed that I don’t seem to be getting many returned comments at the moment, so if you have a website and you return comments, I’ll add you to the list. Check out the Comment Ring page to find out more, and please spread the word! The more people who know about it and get involved, the more comments you’re likely to get. Plus, it’s a free link from Blossom.nu; what’s not to like?
On a similar note, if you’d like to do a link exchange, please let me know. It’s time I brought a page back to link to some great blogs, so if you’re interested just fill out the contact form and I’ll start putting a list together. I’ve had a few people contact me about it before, and I meant to get round to it but just haven’t had the chance, sorry!

*waves* Hi, I'm
I’m not usually one to comment here, but I thought I would because I read you all the time.
I’ve followed you since, I swear, it seems like 2003 maybe? When I discovered dollmakers. (I was totally 13. Ha.) But, now it seems I follow you on a blogging level instead. You’re welcome to come by and check mine as well, anytime, and I’ll definitely be by here more often!
Hope you manage to sort the back pain out, definitely know what you mean about noticing these silly little things more when you’re getting older! Did you end up doing anything for Bonfire Night yesterday? I didn’t, but there’s a few local displays on over the next few weeks, so will definitely be going to at least one of those. Will get in touch with you about a link exchange, as would definitely be interested, as well as on the comment ring!
Oh man, I’m sorry to hear about your back! Is it because of your bed too? I had that problem but I figured out it was because of my bed.
Anyway, wow, you really get things done quick! I mean, about the Commenting Ring. Haha. I thought it’d take a couple of days at least, but nope, you just put it up like that second! Hehe! That’s a great idea though. Hope it’ll be a success for you! =)
Oh dear I am so sorry to hear about your back problems, but perhaps you should go see a chairopractor? It might be something that is out of place that is causing you so much pain.
I’m definately interested in link exchange I’ll be filling out your contact form as soon as I am done with writing this comment =)
I can be a bit delayed in returning comments some times because life gets so hectic with me but I do in the end return them xD…
I’ve never been to a Bonfire night, it sounds like fun…
Take care xx
I just filled out your comment form and it told me this…
“ERROR:

=(…I still will be putting up your link though..
It sucks about your back & pain
My back is always hurting, so I’m hopefully going to get a massage soon because my dad’s work covers the cost thru benefits. You should look into getting a massage
I look forward to my update too, if I can even manage to find the inspiration for it…
I always return comments! ^_^ I think you may have noticed, haha. I might have forgotten a few in the past, though. D: Maybe because back then I didn’t moderate comments before returning them.
Thought I don’t always reply to what is said, I do reply one way or another, and I try to read blogs back in that way.
I hope your back gets better soon! Perhaps you just need a good massage.
I have been having sore shoulders lately and I hope someone gives me a massage soon. XD
You work in an office right? Maybe it’s the way you’re sitting. Sometimes office chairs aren’t always that comfortable. You should look into getting some back support for your chair. I got one and it’s really comfortable. I got one like this: Maybe that is the cause of your back pains.
I try to return comments as fast as possible but lately I’ve been really busy so haven’t had time to return many. I’ll like to be added to your comment ring
Sorry to hear about your back pain. Hopefully it doesn’t stay with you long. I always return comments and I love visiting new blogs!
This is the first time I visited your blog… i love your header! :p i hope we can exchange links someday if you don’t like now.
and about your back pain… i hope you feel better soon.
ayeee I hope your back is feeling better!! I feel like maybe I’m getting old too, i’ve gone to bed at like 8pm the past two days! crazy!
Ouch :S Hopefully a good rest and some relaxation will help with your back! If not it may be worth it to get like a deep tissue massage- massages are always nice anyways
That comment ring is a neat idea too! I usually just read random recent blog posts, but yeh I do find there are a lot of people that don’t comment back, but I mostly like just seeing what other people are up to in all parts of the world
It’s for sure one of the main reasons I keep a blog!
Hope you start feeling better with the back pain and the whole being able to grip things issue, that sounds pretty scary actually. Have you gone to the doctor for that?
As for the comment thing that is a really good idea, I filled out the form and what not since I return comments. Hopefully, more people join in.
Ohw, that sucks! Maybe you could see a chiropractor? Usually they *crack* you back into shape in no time
I’ve been to one once when my neck hurt so bad I couldn’t turn my head anymore…
Ah! I just realized where I followed you those MANY years ago… star-girl! wow! I totally forgot!
Maybe you should see someone about your back? It might get worse in the years to come. I hope it gets better for you! Maybe one of those special matresses will help?
