Just a quick update…

…because I must finish The Little Stranger before I die of suspense!

I slipped on the ice today and managed to rip a big hole across my jeans, graze my hands and rip open my favourite pair of gloves. Eeep! I’m fine though, just a little stiff/sore, especially as I did it at lunchtime and then had to clean it up and sit in the same position all day at work.

My housemate showed me how to play Texas Hold ‘Em poker tonight, and we played for a few hours. I’m reckless and unpredictable, but at least we weren’t playing for real money, just the Monopoly kind.

Yesterday Joe and I went out for dinner, and it was impossible to resist dessert – I shared a Brownie Delight with him, but that’s my only slip-up food wise, so far at least. Today I’ve eaten fresh spinach, tomato, cucumber, red pepper, carrot sticks, a banana, raisins and I’ve had tomato soup and organic lemonade, so doing pretty well on the fruit and veg front.

Budgeting – not so good. I managed to resist most of the epic book sale at Asda, but I did cave in and some some chick lit. It was only £1 though (reduced from £6.99), so cheaper and more long-lasting than the magazine I would otherwise have bought.

The weather’s supposed to be getting worse, so fingers crossed it doesn’t go even more icy.
