Birthday girl

Time is going so so fast – can’t believe I’ve been at my ‘new’ job for five months now! In other landmark news, I’m 23 today! Getting old…Next year, I’ll have been webdesigning for a whole decade, and when I reach 28 I’ll have been doing it half my life. Scary thought…

Random insert: Where are the months going?! I’ve not even blogged at all this month so far. I started an entry the other day but then just closed the page, because I was even boring myself. I was blogging because I felt bad about neglecting everything, rather than because I had something to say, which is always a bad idea.

So far for my birthday I’ve received a Rayman Wii game, chocolate fudge and a cute little reindeer teddy (all from Joe), a pack of Kinder chocolate and a surprise gift which is yet to arrive from my old workmates, and a cute little cake with candles, Haribo and Jelly Babies from my current workmates. Tomorrow I’m going home for the weekend, which is when I’ll get my family gifts. Oh, and I have a present from Tabi which I completely forgot to open!! Hopefully I’ll see Hannah at the weekend too; my other home friends I’ll be seeing closer to Christmas, and my uni friends I’m meeting up with tonight.

As such, I’ve had far too much sugar this morning (I had some chocolate fudge at about ten to eight this morning, and things just went downhill from there). I wasn’t expecting anything at all except something from Joe, so it’s been lovely to have unexpected gifts. Very low key this year, partly because I’m trying to save money and partly because I’m still recovering from Halloween! Also, I thought it wasn’t fair on the boys to do something in the house when they have essays due in and exams to revise for. So last week me and Joe went to Leicester for a day out, and met up with Tabi and Kevin which was nice. I got all Christmassy and made some salt dough decorations for my mini (2 foot) high tree, and a couple of hanging decorations. I’ll take some pictures at some point! My house doesn’t look particularly Christmassy apart from those things, but then again I don’t have many decorations because I’m always at my parents’ for Christmas and off somewhere for new year’s (this year I’m going to Sussex).

All my Christmas presents are bought and wrapped – including bows, ribbon and gift tags – apart from one of my sister’s presents which has been delivered to my parents’ house, and Joe’s presents. Still unsure about what to get him, but have to decide soon! Also, I’m helping him with his family’s presents; he has a LOT of people to buy for. One year we’ll get it right and start in October or something…

Right, well I’m off to buy something for lunch that doesn’t have sugar, and then it’s back to work
