Joe

So I’m still in Nottingham. Joe was hit by a car on Monday night, and being 120 miles away, I was just completely freaking out about not being able to do anything, or knowing exactly what has happening, what was wrong, etc. Luckily Tabi came to the rescue and tracked him down (she’s living in my house in Notts which is only about a 15 min walk from the hospital) and told me what was going on.

The next day I got permission from work to go – I probably would have gone without it to be honest – and got the train(s). Joe’s fine, except a bit drugged up and he’s broken his tibia and fibula in different places…I was relieved to see that he hadn’t hit his head or anything.

So today he’s supposed to be having an operation on his leg (which has been delayed since the day after he got in the accident because there’s a waiting list). Fingers crossed that will happen and go well.

He’s had a lot of friends visiting constantly during visiting hours, so I’m thinking it would have been more useful for me to hold off coming until he went home and actually needed help with getting washed/dressed etc., but I had to make sure he was okay and being looked after properly…I will definitely be back down south by the end of the week though.

I don’t really have Internet access at the moment, so I’ll update on Twitter and blog properly when I get a chance.

I hope the operation goes well! I’m SOO glad to hear that it’s just his leg! Hehe about going to see Joe even if you didn’t have permission to go from work. Hehe! I’d be scared of losing my job, too! So that wouldn’t be good! But I’m glad you got permission! =)
