Happy Easter

Technically I should’ve posted that yesterday, but meh. It’s still Easter really!! Hope you guys had a good one. I ate my egg on Friday because I’m greedy like that :P

I went home (back up north) on Wednesday night, and had a nice relaxing time at home. Other than all the stuff on Sky News about terrorists in Manchester of course, which did ruin the relaxed atmosphere a little bit. Thursday I went to Frankie and Benny’s with Hannah – it’s her 22nd today so happy birthday Hannah! On Friday we went to pick my sis up from Wales, where she had a break for her 18th. It was the part of north Wales where we used to go when we had a static caravan there, and the part where we actually stayed was looking as good as ever, but the surrounding areas that we used to visit looked pretty rundown. Maybe if a lot of people are visiting this year because they can’t afford long holidays abroad they’ll be able to do it up. I really hope so because I’ve got a lot of good memories of that place, and it’s a little depressing to see things like the hotel with its roof half (burnt?) off…

Then Saturday my dad got really ill with some dizzy/sick bug, and he’s still not entirely better. So I spent quite a bit of time running backwards and forwards getting things for him, and a lot of time with Pom. I took Pom to the park on Saturday and we spent a couple of hours getting absolutely filthy – it was so muddy despite the fantastic weather. And I took Pom for a longish walk every night, and a random guy told me he was ‘the most beautiful animal in the world’, which is sweet if not entirely true :P Can you tell I’m absolutely tired out? This blog entry doesn’t read well at all, and I’m too tired to fix it lol.

So overall we didn’t really do that much for Easter but it was good just catching up and chilling out. And I read a ton of books, like 4 a day…and I started re-reading Pullman’s His Dark Materials trilogy and Hemingway’s For Whom The Bell Tolls. I love Hemingway normally but I just don’t think that is one of his better novels. And Pullman has that rare talent of being able to write well and have exceptionally good storylines. J. K. Rowling isn’t a good writer though her storylines are great. Even Virginia Woolf, one of my idols, I have to say wasn’t that great at endings..and Flush is just terrible all the way through. I’m so picky. Maybe I’d make a good editor. Wow, I really need to stop rambling now.

Anyway, today was a lovely 4 hour journey back to the desolate wastelands of the south. I had to go via Wales, because apparently the train system hates anyone going anyway via a logical route. Still, it was more interesting than my usual route. Lots of sheep, unsurprisingly :P

When I got in about 3 hours ago, I unpacked, changed my bedding, did some laundry, had some dinner and then settled down on the Internet. It’s not really all that surprising that I’m feeling so tired, travelling always does that to me.

Hmm, not much in the way of site updates. I’ve been working on a new dollmaker but that’s still a work in progress. Random spike in hits a couple of days ago too, no idea why though.

At the moment I’m all focused on Wednesday, which is when Joe’s coming to visit. I feel a bit sad now because I’m not surrounded by the havoc and madness of being around people and furry animals (even their eating off my plate and demanding to be fed at 3am – I don’t know why they aren’t fat?!). But work will soon knock that out of me tomorrow and it’ll be good to get back for some peace and quiet!!

Woah, how the heck do your read FOUR books a day?!!! How long are the books??

Yeah, traveling does make you tired… =(

Hehe about not being surrounded by people/animals! I come from a small family, so I’m always surrounded by “quietness”. LOL, it’s in quotes because… It’s a looong story.
