Dreamhost and Phishing
You may have been wondering what happened to the site over the past few days.
Well, so was I!
I checked it on Wednesday before I went back to Manchester, and it was fine. Then on Saturday I had five minutes to myself (more about what I’ve been up to in a bit), and nearly had a heart attack. Logged into FTP…and my domain folder had been renamed to blossom.nu_BLOCKED_BY_DREAMHOST_FOR_PHISHING or something similar. So I emailed the support team and haven’t heard back yet (still, it is over a weekend in a completely different timezone).
Then 5 minutes ago I decided to rename the folder and see what happened. And of course it’s back up and running. I think it was a simple mistake when they were moving my domains to a new server, because I think generally they block entire accounts for phishing, and even if they don’t I’ve been with them for 7 years and they should know by now I’m not into that kind of stupid stuff.
Anyway, at least I’ve fixed it now
Last Wednesday I went to Manchester after work, went food shopping (joy) and then caught up with the family before calling it a night. Then I had a job interview on Thursday, which was also my sister’s 18th so after I got back we went out for a meal. Then Friday I’d planned to relax, but I had another interview instead with only 4 hours’ notice. I ended up being a bit late to meet Hannah, but we ate at Frankie and Benny’s and then went to see The Haunting in Connecticut. It’s pretty creepy and made me jump a lot but it wasn’t too scary (I’m not keen on scary films as a rule but there wasn’t much else on). Saturday I did end up relaxing, and went into town with Hannah for breakfast and then wandered around the shops for a bit. And I got a chance to take Pom for a walk and play Wii Fit etc. which was nice. Then Saturday night I went out with Hannah, Mel and two of Mel’s friends to a couple of pubs. So the time went pretty fast and now I’m back at work again
I was really sad to be leaving everyone, especially as Joe came to stay last Saturday and stayed until Wednesday. Though I was working during the weekdays, we went to Oxford for the day on Sunday and had Nando’s and Krispy Kremes and lots of book-related browsing. I took a few photos too, which will be uploaded as soon as my phone software starts behaving itself again.
So now I’ve got this site problem sorted out, I can get on with the endless task of redoing and writing all the content. At least I have the control over this one and can put exactly what I like
It’s just going to take me forever to finish everything, that’s all!

Oh wow, I’m SOOOOOO happy you got it fixed, by yourself, though! I don’t think Dreamhost is that great of a host if they never got back to you about it… Haha…
Anyways, sounds like you had a nice weekend! How did the interviews go??? Wait, are these interviews for a new job or something?

Phishers must be pretty creative people. They always find a way to explit people’s trust. It’s kinda sad if you think about it.
