Dreamhost and Phishing

You may have been wondering what happened to the site over the past few days.

Well, so was I!

I checked it on Wednesday before I went back to Manchester, and it was fine. Then on Saturday I had five minutes to myself (more about what I’ve been up to in a bit), and nearly had a heart attack. Logged into FTP…and my domain folder had been renamed to blossom.nu_BLOCKED_BY_DREAMHOST_FOR_PHISHING or something similar. So I emailed the support team and haven’t heard back yet (still, it is over a weekend in a completely different timezone).

Then 5 minutes ago I decided to rename the folder and see what happened. And of course it’s back up and running. I think it was a simple mistake when they were moving my domains to a new server, because I think generally they block entire accounts for phishing, and even if they don’t I’ve been with them for 7 years and they should know by now I’m not into that kind of stupid stuff.

Anyway, at least I’ve fixed it now :)

Last Wednesday I went to Manchester after work, went food shopping (joy) and then caught up with the family before calling it a night. Then I had a job interview on Thursday, which was also my sister’s 18th so after I got back we went out for a meal. Then Friday I’d planned to relax, but I had another interview instead with only 4 hours’ notice. I ended up being a bit late to meet Hannah, but we ate at Frankie and Benny’s and then went to see The Haunting in Connecticut. It’s pretty creepy and made me jump a lot but it wasn’t too scary (I’m not keen on scary films as a rule but there wasn’t much else on). Saturday I did end up relaxing, and went into town with Hannah for breakfast and then wandered around the shops for a bit. And I got a chance to take Pom for a walk and play Wii Fit etc. which was nice. Then Saturday night I went out with Hannah, Mel and two of Mel’s friends to a couple of pubs. So the time went pretty fast and now I’m back at work again :)

I was really sad to be leaving everyone, especially as Joe came to stay last Saturday and stayed until Wednesday. Though I was working during the weekdays, we went to Oxford for the day on Sunday and had Nando’s and Krispy Kremes and lots of book-related browsing. I took a few photos too, which will be uploaded as soon as my phone software starts behaving itself again.

So now I’ve got this site problem sorted out, I can get on with the endless task of redoing and writing all the content. At least I have the control over this one and can put exactly what I like :P It’s just going to take me forever to finish everything, that’s all!

Excuses excuses…

As usual things didn’t go to plan website-wise. I still need to figure out why displaying code keeps messing up on my pages (and even my admin panel) no matter what plugins I install and code I use. This is made more complicated by the fact that I can only upload files at work, which means waiting till lunchtime. And of course, no weekends. Today I was in a meeting which lasted about seven hours, and what lunch break I had I wasn’t anywhere near my computer. I’m thinking about going in early tomorrow. Staying late is more difficult now we’ve moved offices because the cleaner is around and I feel like I’m in the way.

Next week I’m going home for my sister’s 18th. I can’t believe she’s going to be 18!! When I started blogging she was 10, which makes me feel old :P I haven’t been home for ages, since early February or earlier maybe? And that was only for the day. I need home cooking!! Also, we’re having Mother’s Day a week later because I’ll be at home then.

I don’t know what’s wrong with me at the moment, but I’m exhausted almost constantly. Right now I could just sleep for about a week. I think I need to start eating better and get more exercise in, especially now the evenings are longer. It’s been great summer weather recently too. On Sunday I actually went out with a t-shirt and sandals on, and that’s practically unheard of for England, never mind in March!!

I’ve reclaimed my facebook status – it just wasn’t worth having everyone from work being able to read it. Not because I was saying anything bad about anyone, but because people instantly assumed anything I said was related to work. And that just got annoying after a while, so I altered my privacy settings. Nothing personal, just that I want to be able to say what I like without thinking about fifty million different ways it can be interpreted.

Well, I was going to say a lot more but I think I’ll just mess around with some DVDs for a bit and then try and work up the energy to do some pilates. Hopefully once I get into it I’ll wake up a bit – half the problem is that I spend way too much time sitting or lying down and not enough time being active :)

The weekend

The weekend was as close to perfect as it’s going to get. Friday night I went to Nottingham and had a lovely meal out, then Saturday we had a nice lie in, I gave Joe his birthday presents and we went to see ‘Watchmen’ with about 20 of our friends, then went to a couple of pubs. By the way, I really didn’t like ‘Watchmen’, and it was far too long and cheesy in my opinion, though most people seemed to love it. I guess it’s not really my kind of thing.

The only bad thing about the weekend was that it took me 6 hours to get back (the journey is normally 4 hours)…sigh. It was also raining and depressing going back :( Work didn’t start off too well this week either. I had a whole day meeting today though which wasn’t so bad as I managed to handwrite some articles and pages for the site, so I’ll type those up tomorrow hopefully. I have another full day meeting tomorrow as we’re seeing and briefing all the new Autumn products for one of the catalogues. It’s not that bad though and there’s lots of free food which is always good!!

This morning I realised what a state my room and bathroom were in after spending 20 minutes unsuccessfully trying to find a plaster (band aid) for my foot which is rubbing against the back of my new shoes. So I came in this evening with the intention to clean and tidy everything – but in actual fact I’ve spent most of the time playing Settlers of Catan online and talking on the phone. I have had a shower though, and blogging is on my list of things to do so it’s not that bad. After I’ve tidied though I need to work on my sister’s 18th birthday present…hmmm…

I was planning to update blossom tonight but I don’t really have anything ready to add right now. Since I don’t have any plans for this weekend, I’m tempted to just save everything up and do a ton of updates then. I really want to get started on sorting out the tutorials, and I’ve got some WordPress ones in skeleton form which can be made ready to go without much trouble. I’ve been doing behind the scenes work the past couple of days with CSS and plugins. It’s all never ending, but I’m really enjoying it and even if you aren’t seeing something new or changed every couple of days, that doesn’t mean I’m not working on something!! Don’t worry, I haven’t given up :)
