Graduation & Italy

I think I mentioned it briefly, but it was off to Italy for me on the 9th (following graduation on the 8th), and I just got back today. Pictures of both may well follow :) Graduation was pretty boring, apart from an unwelcome panic at the beginning when I thought my family wasn’t going to make it. Much love to Tabi and Kevin who were amazing throughout, I owe them a lot. Everything worked out ok in the end though, we went back to my house and ordered in Chinese, and they had made me cards and cake and bought me stuff like a massive box of chocolates, Krispy Kremes. Also I got a graduation shirt and charm bracelet from the marquees selling stuff at graduation itself.

Italy was fantastic, it was great to get away from the gloom and grey skies. Tom’s flat was lovely, with a great view from the balcony, the food was amazing (ice cream!!!) and we did fun stuff like visit the leaning tower of Pisa and go swimming in a nice empty outdoor pool. I’m slightly burnt as I was stupid enough not to put sun cream on parts of me, such as my legs that don’t tan well normally. I’m not as red as Hannah (tee hee), because it’s tan with a touch of burn, and I don’t tend to get strap marks or lines when I tan as the pale olive colour of my skin tends to blend quite well into it. Yeah, I’m lucky. But I was a lot paler than the Italians who were technically white, if that makes sense – it’s late and I got up at 5 am UK time.

Sounds like you had a great time in Italy! I can’t wait to leave for France next week – I could really use some time off (even though I went to Crete for a week last month). Can’t wait to see pictures of your graduation and your holiday.

Congrats on your Graduation! Wow that must have been great visiting Italy, I sure would love to go here sometime. I also think it’s awesome that you take advantage of how cheap it is to fly to such interesting and diverse places from the UK.
