This blog is brought to you by special request – you have Rafia to thank for this! I know I’ve been really bad about blogging in the past month
An extra day this year has been completely unnoticable as yet.
At the same time that I’m not even blogging, I have a weird urge to strip this site of everything and start afresh (other than my blog). I have lots of new ideas that I’m eager to try out, and everything is very messy and dated. This will have to be put on a back burner until after my degree though because I have absolutely no time. It’s crazy.
In other news, some guy was telling me last night about when he was 16. He received a letter from Liverpool Uni telling him he’d missed his second yr nursing exam (!) and when he phoned up to tell them he was still in school ANYWAY and hadn’t been anywhere near them, they said ‘Are you sure?’ Lol. At least, as I pointed out, that means he did well enough to pass the first year?!
Today’s plans are food shopping and uni work-ing. I need to write the first part of a drama presentation and get my dissertation going. Yesterday I went to the gym and the library, then home, then Richard’s. I sent my mum some great bargains I got from a shop that was closing in town – all craft stuff, and all cheaper than she can normally buy, so she was pretty excited when I called and told her. I also sent someone special a card
Next (academic) year is beginning to fall into place – I have offers from 2 universities out of 4 so far, and I only sent my applications out last week. I’ve also got tenants for my house for next year, which is awesome.
This month is absolutely going to cripple me as far as spending is concerned; other than Mother’s Day, which wound up being quite expensive but not too bad because my sister chipped in a lot, I have five birthdays to buy presents for. Richard’s and Joey’s are already taken care of, Kieran I’m planning to buy food of some description when I next see him, Vitushni I’m not going to see until next month, and Lara I’ve bought a couple of small things for so far and I’m paying for half a concert ticket for her.
I also used a lovefilm.com promotional code to sign up recently – it’s freaking awesome. I love it. I worked about that it costs about 50p a week with the free trial, and that’s more like 25p when you take into consideration that Joey and I are sharing an account, and I signed up with one of the more expensive plans. Added to this, you can also cancel your free trial without being charged. They are also super fast at delivering the DVDs. If you’d like to sign up and say I referred you (stargirldotorg@hotmail.com), I wouldn’t complain
Google ‘lovefilm promotional code’ to get a better deal. I’m trying out loads of films that would normally cost me £3 at least to rent each, and that I wouldn’t like to buy in case I hated them. Although googling reviews, they seem to be quite poorly rated, and if I have any problems in receiving/playing DVDs, I will cancel before the trial ends.
Okay, so I’m going to tidy my room and then get started on the day. I feel like I’m already behind with work, even though my assessments aren’t due in until May…

*waves* Hi, I'm
*hugs* I know what you mean about not having any time for your site. That’s basically how it is for me also, except for my blog. =P
Good luck with your plans for today!
Wow, that’s awesome about getting offers for the next school year! =) You’re smart!!! =)
Yeah, I know what you mean about getting broke because of birthdays. That was February for me. LOL…
Good luck with school, Jenni! *hugs*
Wow, finally a new blog!
Been waiting for that for ages. Thanks, Rafia. Lol.
Anyway, it really sounds like you’re busy and I hope all’s going well? I’m pretty busy with university too. What will your dissertation be about? And how many words should it be? Over here it’s 8,000 – 10,000. I’m so glad I’m still in my first year and that my essays are usually 1,000 – 1,500 words. Hehe. I guess that’ll change over the next few years though…
What are you going to do once you’ve got your degree? Go for a Master in English?
Good luck with everything.
Wow thats a lot of birthdays to by for. Good luck with your assignments and updating you site.
Lovefilm sounds good I might have to check it out.
just as a warning: LoveFilm start off great (sending you DVDs quickly, sending you things that you put as ‘high priority’ etc) but after a while they turn rubbish, if you use their service ‘too often’ then they take AGES sending you new DVDs, won’t update your account when you’ve sent DVDs back and send you things lower down on your list. I was with them for ages, and didn’t really understand what was going on until I wiki-ed LoveFilm and it explained everything there. ( , scroll right to the bottom it’s under ‘throttling’). I’m with BlockBuster now and they’re awesome
no idea if it costs more since I’ve never really calculated it, but there’s a 1 month free trial if you sign up, no strings attached if you wanna give it a go
lol I’ve written more then I intended to but thought I should warn you, it really pissed me off!
Great to see you blogging again, and what unis are you applying for (I’m assuming it’s for a MA?).
x
That’s funny because that is how I felt also, had abandoned my blog for a long while and decided in order to revive my interest I just needed to completely gut my site and start from fresh, it’s working out so far
Aww Jen-Jen don’t worry about updating this site: just think how far you’ve come already!! I mean, I knew you and KK right in its premature stages (do you remember the strawberry layout? I do!) so you’ve already done fantastically for yourself and everyone else sticking it out this far. Besides, it’s not as messy as you might think it is – with my old site, I used to think it was that way (and hmm, maybe it was, but yours is far from) so no worries. Just wait ’till summer then you’ll have all … the … time … ever! That didn’t quite make sense, but I hope it cheered you up! ^__^ Enjoy those DVDs, too
xx Gem Gem
Great blend tut! I made my best friend an e-mail sig with it. Awesome!
Thanks!
Wow a whole new site huh? Well take your time, you’re busy enough as it is without tons more work piling on top! Seems you haven’t blogged in a while, I hope you’re okay? Probably just busy though
Been a while since I visited here. Who’s Joey, your boyfriend?:D
I know how you feel! I’ve been the same.. so much of the content on my site is old though. I love the layout, but need to update the content, the opposite of your thoughts on blossom.nu actually. That’s pretty funny story about your friend that got the nursing information… wow how’d they muck that up?!
Yeahh I use lovefilm, it’s fantastic! Three games/DVDs at a time and you get the next lot through about three days after you send the first ones back! I’ve been with them for ages on and off but couldn’t ever fault them
