Fool!
Sorry about the downtime, I had a niggling suspicion that November = domain renewing month, but forgot that namecheap doesn’t auto-renew like dreamhost does. I suck, I know.
Summary of yesterday:
8:30 Got up – overslept. Rushed around getting breakfast, washed, and my stuff together.
9:00-10:00 Virginia Woolf lecture
10:00-12:00 Library
12:00-1:00 Virginia Woolf seminar
1:00-5:30 Library, lunch and gym
5:30-7:30 Making dinner (stir fry with noodles), eating dinner, shower, washing dishes from the whole weekend (lol)
7:30-midnight Went to Tabi’s
midnight-1:00 am Tabi and Rich walked me home; tried to get the internet to work and failed badly. Played Peggle (google it), went to sleep
Today:
Same pattern but had a seminar 10-12, then library and gym, currently relaxing in bed but about to start typing up notes. I feel like I have done no work; I’ve made maybe a pin prick sized hole in the mountain I have to smoosh through.

Sunday is normally the day of the week where I start to feel guilty about the uni work piling up and so head off for a mega library session, broken only by a break to go to the gym (I read/work whilst eating lunch).
This Sunday was slightly different; I decided to skip the gym but go to the library whilst I waited for Joey (he was going to a society gaming thing). So I got quite a bit of work done as normally I don’t like to stay *too* long after it gets dark at about 4, but he finished around 7-8.
We walked out and it was FREEZING. I was wearing just a hoodie over my t-shirt because I’d left the house in a rush carrying my lunch and so grabbed the nearest thing with a hood because it was raining, forgetting my umbrella. It was also snowing.
By the time we’d walked down the hill I was practically dead. Joey, like the mutant he is, was reasonably cold but not caring too much. He was, however, laughing at Snow Jenni. We decided to stop off at the newly-refurbished uni bar, where I had a lovely hot chocolate. The whole atmosphere was really nice; it was quite quiet, the place was nice and warm and we sat near the window looking out at the snow in the dark night. Since the weather wasn’t getting any better, we decided to eat there before braving the cold again.
We did however keep making stops – under buildings, under bus shelters and the bridge, because it was so damn cold and wet. But after warming up when getting home, we managed to face the Ben and Jerry’s ice cream I bought the other day, so joy
Getting up early this morning (7 am) after going to bed around 2 wasn’t great. But I went to my lectures, worked for a couple of hours and now I’m slowly working my way down my list of things to do. There’s a variety of things including house chores, uni work, and stuff to pack (I’m going to Sheffield for a couple of days tomorrow to see my friends and for Em’s cocktail party – she’s 21). Busy busy. Plus, I need to start applying to unis for postgrad courses soon, I have massive essays to write and the whole social side of things to do as well. But on the bright side, I’m enjoying my friends and uni and my life. It’s ridiculously better than this time last year in every way possible
Work work has also been keeping me pretty busy, but I got a nice fat cheque for £240 for October’s wages, and November’s shouldn’t be too bad so I’m coping. I’ve even bought Christmas presents for my sister, Richard and Tabi and Joey, so I’m not doing too badly.
4 commentsBad things…
So I got up this morning, the sun was shining, the warehouse workers were working, the ducks were quacking etc. Beautiful blue sky.
Then disaster strikes. x4.
1. I tried to pay for goods on ebay because my sending limit is apparently maxed out. Riiight. So I send my mum some money to pay from her account and it tells me my sending limit is £602.92. The thing I’m trying to pay for is £65. I don’t get it, but it wasted about 2 hours of my time, it’s still not sorted, and since I’ve given the money to my mum to pay, I don’t have enough left to try paying for a 5th time.
2. I went to get the reading for my seminar today, and find out that it’s in a book. That I actually don’t own. Luckily I found the text on the internet and have printed it (just about – my printer desperately needs new ink), but not yet read it. And I have to leave (read: get dressed, washed etc.) in 20 minutes. I sense problems will arise when she asks us to go to a specific page, but what the hell.
3. I opened my window to get some fresh air in, and the biggest wasp I have ever seen in my life flew in. Cue me standing in fear at my bedroom door ready to run for about 5 minutes. I’m not normally scared of any kind of insect unless it’s massive and looks like it wants to kill something, like this one did. Luckily it flew out again of its own accord.
4. I was looking on one of the celebrity gossip sites, and it said ‘[Blah], the winner of America’s Next Top Model cycle 8…’. DAMN YOU, that cycle is halfway through here in the UK and I did NOT need to know who wins…gah. I wasn’t expecting to read that and it just really pissed me off.
I sense it’s going to be one of those days…
