Break

I’m not feeling well at the moment and I have a lot of university work, including a 3,000 word essay.

I feel really bad that I’ve let you guys down so much at the moment with updates…

I just need some more time…

What’s that coming over the hill?

Well, I’ve been at home since Wednesday, and I’ve been to a property auction, been shopping three times, celebrated my mum’s birthday, taken Pom out twice and watched a bit too much Deal or No Deal. Oh, plus I’ve done a bit of reading.

I was fully intending to post lots of pictures (especially on my new jumper which I love to death), but the light here isn’t amazing, and my mum’s webcam really cannot cope, and everything is dark and fuzzy. So I may add pics tomorrow if I get the chance.

Andy’s been staying at the house for his half term but he left Monday, I’ve not been getting on with my housemate amazingly well of late, and I missed my family so much, so I had to escape. I have the week off uni (‘Reading Week’), but I already seem to be in demand: Richard’s just asked me where I am, work called me yesterday to find out if I could come in, and Sarah text me to ask if I could go over to her house to write our presentation on A Tale of Two Cities.

I have quite a lot to say but it may end up quite bitty, and so I’ll probably separate things into themed paragraphs/sentences like the English geek I am.

- I know I need to update the site badly; I’m waiting until I catch up with uni work before I try doing anything.

- I went to see a play with Sarah and Andy called The Caretaker. All I can say is, I will never willingly study Pinter. His characters say something. Then again, even more slowly (if that’s actually possible). Then again, louder. Then another character says ‘What?’ and the whole thing is repeated. I swear if you cut out all the repeating lines the play would be about five minutes long.

- I went to a property auction last night because my dad was selling a shop. Guide price was £175,000-£200,000, the bids went up to £132,000. My dad blamed it on the interest rate having increased the same day. I blame it on the auctioneer, a sneering, arrogant, semi-bald estate agent who was very rude and irritating. I wouldn’t buy a goldfish from that man, let alone a property. In no way did he even attempt to evoke trust, and why would you spend that much money on buying something from someone you didn’t trust? Anyway, he got more and more irritated as time went on and very little was selling, so it wasn’t all bad :P

- My mum is now 54! Happy birthday for yesterday mum :)

- OMG Britney’s divorce! Has been way overdue, and it’s the best news I’ve heard in a while.

- I’ve just finished updating the home PC – it now sports Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2.0, as well as AOL OpenRide (which is surprisingly nifty). I also updated (and ran) AVG Free, Ad-Aware, Spybot, CCleaner and the AOL Spyware and Computer Check Up programs. Unfortunately, though the PC is sparkly clean and complete with a new desktop theme and clean keyboard, I haven’t solved the problem I was aiming to solve. My sister downloaded Yahoo Messenger, and it installed loads of shit spin-off programs. So of course, last time I ran spyware and adware programs, it deleted a couple of core files of the Yahoo programs. So now error messages appear when the PC is turned on, and I can’t delete the programs. And like the shit that Yahoo is, I can’t remove it at all, even from ‘Add/Remove Programs’. I’ve even tried reinstalling all the Yahoo crap, just to uninstall it, to no avail. And the only fix I found with Google was one which no longer works. So I guess we’ll have to put up with it until I get inspired or can be bothered to look at it in more detail.

Okay, I’m off to make Christmas cookies (slightly early lol) with my family, so I’ll return comments from the last two entries tomorrow! :)
