Food

So I’m minding my own business, scraping my plate after lunch in the dining room, when the chef randomly appears.

Him: Did you enjoy your meal?
Me: *surprised* Um..yes thanks.
Him: Jolly good!!!! *wanders off*

I had a strong temptation to say ‘yes thanks…because you didn’t make it’ (I had a baguette with tuna and salad), but that would be just too mean. I know he can cook when he wants to, he probably just can’t be bothered :P

But seriously, who says ‘Jolly good’?! This isn’t the 1950s.

Unless…maybe it is!! That would explain my shocking Internet connection recently :P

Anyway…chef part 2 came at breakfast (8 am!!) when we were queuing for food

Him: *chirpy* How are you girls this morning? Good good! *rambles on about how much he loves his job and the people he works with*

Maybe they make hash brownies in the kitchen or something. It must be some form of drugs he’s on.

On a completely different (yet still food-related) note, why do the double chocolate chip cookies at Subway have fewer calories and less fat than regular chocolate chip?! Not that I’m complaining…the food in halls is getting so bad I’m craving Subway more than ever. Where the hell is Nika? :grr:

Maybe there’s been some complaints the kitchen staff aren’t friendly enough and so they’ve been told to make more of an effort?

I’ll ask my ex about the cookies for you, he works at subway and so he bakes them.

So glad I’m self catered! Tho, it makes conversations with the chef even weirder! Hee hee!

Btw, James and Bekki want to learn to cook over the summer so Tom reckons me and him should team teach the three of you – lol!!
