Busy busy

Life is crazy at the moment. I’ve finally managed to organise this week, with a lot of comprising and having to decide between things and juggling everything. Wednesday and Thursday are going to be crazy as I’m planning to go to the gym, go to an essay workshop, a Christmas bar crawl, go for a Chinese with Nathan and go to Richard’s Christmas Cheese Party. And that’s not even counting lectures…

But I’m jumping ahead. Back to Thursday night. The formal was great, the food was lovely, and I was actually sitting at a table comprising just my friends, which was great. Unfortunately we had to meet the Warden’s dad. Why he feels the need to introduce various family members to us at each formal, I really have no idea :hmm: I didn’t go to the after party because I couldn’t be bothered. And The Quilted Llama is like £5/drink. So I had fun with Tom and Nika instead lol.

On the 2nd, it was Laura’s birthday and we went to TGI Friday’s. The table for ten of us was booked for 9. At 5 to, when we got there, they apologised and said they were running a bit late. Which we found out was because there were people at our table running over :grr: So we eventually got food at about 10pm. By that time I was nearly dying lol. It was really fun…until it came to paying. They’d messed up our bar tabs and so our bill was about £20 (nearly $40) over. Which confused us for ages because we all paid our own bit of the bill, so we were wondering why we were short. So we explained to the waitress, and she was nice about it to our faces. Behind our backs, the staff were discussing it and deciding we looked ‘a bit fishy’ :grr: Because we’re students, probably :S When it was clearly some other people who were happy to pay ‘their’ much-lower bar tab and leave us in the lurch. They didn’t reduce the tip that was included either, and somehow we managed to mess up paying between the 10 of us so it still wasn’t right for some reason. And we ended up getting ripped off about £5. But Laura seemed to enjoy her birthday which is all that counts :)

On Saturday we went back to the house my dad put an offer on with Tom (he isn’t moving in with us any more though…), and looked at another bunglalow. My dad wants us to keep looking at houses in case something goes wrong with this one. The bungalow needed a hell of a lot of work, and Nika and I weren’t keen on it. I was also slightly suspicious by the fact that the estate agent who showed us round kept trying to direct us to other properties in the area :S So Saturday was pretty tiring as we ended up walking backwards and forwards across most of the campus and halfway round Nottingham (or what it felt like lol).

Last night two of Nika’s friends from home came, and we got food from the takeaway (garlic bread, yum) when we got bored waiting for the bar quiz to start. Then I went to bed around 11, and I was just falling asleep when Tom knocked on my door. So he forced me to do some work (finish the book I had to read by this morning) while he wrote up his Physics coursework. I ended up trekking to his room in a completely different building and playing GameCube for a while :hmm: So I didn’t get to bed until really late, and I nearly fell asleep in his bed lol. But sleeping without at least brushing my teeth and moisturising would have been disasterous :P

I had a lecture this morning (coming to the end of the Contemporary American Novel module…sob), and I’m walking into Beeston soonish to grab lunch from Subway (lunch at Cav is never very good on a Monday), and buy some randomly coloured tights for my drama wrkshop this afternoon. I have to dress up like a man, but from the 17th century. So I’ve been told to wear black top, cropped black trousers with coloured tights underneath. The final touch is face paint to resemble a beard/moustache. Should be interesting lol.

My new loves is Ares. Since the uni network is set up the way it is, I can download anything super fast from anyone connected to it. And since there are 30,000 students here, I can get a lot of cool free stuff. Fast. Yay :)

Tonight I have a free night. At the moment. I’m sure something will happen though lol. I need to do some more work on my essay and actually make some research notes before the books are due back in the library. I’m supposed to be doing work now, and I want to get my list of things to do down, so I’ll return comments later
