Memory Lane

Everything seems to be back to normal now *crosses fingers* :)

Sometimes the stupidity of people amazes me. I went food shopping the other day. As I was walking into the supermarket, I saw my tutor walking out of the entrance with his shopping. And I can’t decide which are worse, the people who walk so slowly all the way through the store, or the people who walk really fast and then stop dead. I actually walked past a couple standing in front of one of the upright freezers, and just peering in and discussing the products like they were watching TV. I stopped right by the freezer (because just my luck, it was the one I wanted to get to), and they saw me there and continued discussing the ice cream. Five minutes later, they moved onto the next freezer to dicuss the frozen peas, without even opening that one, and I was finally able to get to it.

After finally managing to get what we needed, we walked out of the shop and to the car, where there are knee-height black concrete posts to separate the car park from the outside of the shop. I distinctly heard a woman say to her son, ‘Don’t touch the posts, you don’t know where they’ve been.’ Well clearly you do know where they’ve been, they are concrete posts that weigh a ton and they’re hardly going to walk off somewhere and stand in dog shit are they?!

Maybe I’m too picky, it’s probably because I’m a linguist :P

I bought a big photo album today for all my college photos. Getting them out, I realised just how many there are; the theatre trip to London, Beeston Castle, Chester, Ainsdale Beach, France, Belgium, New York and Italy. And of course my party photos, of which I seem to have lost most of so I’m going to have to have another look from them. I must have about 300 photos, don’t think they’ll all fit in but I’m going to try. I really am going to miss college; quite a few of my friends are at the stage where they hate it now but I’ve just loved it pretty much all the way through. It’s going to be so upsetting leaving all my friends behind. Looking at the photos made me think that I should go to the ‘Leavers’ Do’ that is being held – but they stupidly put it right in the middle of my exams, and even though it’s a Friday I have about 60 pages of pre-released exam material given to me that day, which I have to have sorted out for Monday. So, we’ll see.

Yes, I agree- about the stupidity of so many people. What bothers me the most is the person who searches through their pocketbook for coupons, but can’t find the right one, so he argues with the cashier saying that he deserves a discount :hmm:
Wow, that’s a lot of photos! Hopefully they’ll all fit :D

  2. Anna says:

Some people are so stupid, personally I don’t see why you need t spend 5 minutes dicussing ice-cream and then not get some. And saying that about a post, I just cracked up when I read that, so funny. :) Wow! That is a lot of photos, you’ve been to so many places. I can’t wait till our leavers do, even if I do have 3 exams the following week, which is another stupid thing as I break up on the friday as well.

  3. Jennifer says:

That thing about the posts sounds so funny!! I do my fair share of stupid things though lol, more embarrasing stupid than just plain stupid. :P I hope you find your party photos. I took 300 photos just on my trip to italy. :P I can only have 50 printed though because I have like a digital camera. Thanx for the lovely comment. :)

  4. Dannie says:

Yay! The site looks awesome!… Just like it did before! :P

  5. Kat says:

Haha, that old couple sounds like they’d really frustrate me. I’m sure your tutor was just in a hurry. I suppose you do know where they’ve been, but not the hands that have touched them. They have those at our school’s football stadium and someone threw up on one once this year. Oh I think you should go. But good luck with exams.

  6. Britt says:

Yeah some of my friends say they hate school too, but I actually quite like it and I can’t imagine how it will be when I’m leaving school in 2,5 years (that’s still quite far away… :P )
Wow you got lots of photos!

  7. Michael says:

Congrats on getting your site back to normal! :)

  8. Sami says:

Yay, the sites back to normal x)

  9. Claire says:

Yay! I’m soo glad your site is back again! :D You must be so relieved! I’m using your skin tutorial and it’s really good and easy to follow! :D Yay! lol Anyway I completely understand about idiots like the people in the store. People in shops around u, the stand with their hand in one of the baskets of things to buy, and hold the trolley outwards so they take up the whole aisle taken up. It’s pathetic! :P Lol So anyway glad you’re site’s ok again! :D Claire. xoxox

  10. jAMIE says:

Haha that soudns like asda. I also hate it when people stop their trolleys SIDEWAYS in an asile. ARGH!

  11. hope says:

i was in a shoppping market once, 2 days before we were going on holiday, so we wanted to buy some bottled water for the journy ( we were driving down to spain ) but this couple were just standing there like you said, talking about weather to get pembrookshire water (66p) or welsh (67p) :P i love photos so much, i love looking though them :0 glad the sites back to normal :)

  12. Jenny says:

Hehe. I hate it when people walk really slowly and you’re stuck behind them and then they stop suddenly and leave their trolley in the middle of the aisle to go look on the shelf. Grrr. And there was once this old lady that went to weigh out her potatoes and I was in the queue behind her and she dropped the bag and the potatoes went everywhere so I helped her pick them up and she proceeded to spill them all again twice! I thought I was going to go crazy and slap her or something! :D

  13. TraNG says:

Yay! Im soo happy for you jenni! Everything is awesome.

What was on my site is a PINATA, it’s like.. a spanish tradition, where that object is hallow then you stuff it with candy, and HIT it untill it breaks.

  14. Me says:

It’s interesting how people always rant about how annoyed they get when people talk during movies, stand in front of the freezer, etc, but rarely say anything to the people. In my opinion, just mentioning it to the person makes dealing just so much easier. A simple “Excuse me” works wonders. Not all the time, yeah, but works often enough.

  15. Chelsy says:

YAY!!! The site’s back to normal!!!:D:D:D

  16. Raquel says:

Some people are really stupid. The other day I saw a person with the sprinklers on the lawn when it was pouring down with rain!

  17. Crazy Girl says:

I’m so happy your site is working! Yay! Congrats.

  18. *star-girl’s working, star-girl’s working!* I’m dancing now, so great that the site’s working again:D

People ARE freaky, it’s just human nature I believe. Really, I’m scared by people at times.

Sounds like LOTS of pictures! I’d die if I had to pay for all those photos:blush:

  19. Maja ,. says:

Yearh, your site is working again,. I love it ,. :)

  20. Charlotte says:

Yes people are stupid, I think that’s the whole point lol, it can be funny but not when it happens to you eh? Oooh photos are great, I love flicking through photo albums even if I’ve seen the pics a million times!!

  21. niamh says:

    LMAO” the post thing! :D
Yay for everything (hopeflly)being normal again! -dances-

  22. Emma says:

    yay everything is back!

  23. Jane says:

I hate people in supermarkets in general expecially old women who park in the middle fothe isle talking to each other because they ahvent seen each other in ages (last fridays bingo night) lmao. Thanx for commenting on my site¬

  24. Rachel says:

Yay! I’m so glad everything is back to normal again! And supermarkets are great places to people watch, I often just go in and laugh at everyone!

You should go to the leavers do, you’ll regret it if you dont hun!

    xxx

  25. Iris says:

I hate it when people do that. I ask them to move politely, and even squeeze in to get what I want if they don’t move fast enough. I want my stuff *now*! :P

  26. Laura says:

Aww well you could always just go to your leavers do for a few hours. It will be worth it, to say goodbye to everyone and make promises of keeping in touch :) Wow, 5 minutes talking about ice cream? Who did they think they were, Jamie Oliver? Some people are so damn ignorant ESPECIALLY in supermarkets. I hate going to Asda with my mum unless we go very late at night. People just leave trolleys all around the place and let their children run wild. Argh. At least you got through it okay :D

  27. Rose says:

I’m so glad everything seems to be fixed now! I hope it stays that way!
It’s a shame you won’t manage your leavers do. If i were you i’d go to it for just an hour or so to say goodbye, else you may regret it.

  28. Lilith says:

YAY!! Back too normal!! Woo hoo!! Well done Jenni!! :)

  29. my dad walks out of shops in the enterance sometimes lol shows how dilly he is. Lol at the concrete posts :P Its a good idea about the photobook, i love my photos aswell. Thanks for commenting hun xx :)

  30. Gladys says:

Woo! Awesome! I’m glad that your site is back to normal.
I don’t like it when people walk unbelievably slow either.

  31. Claire says:

Yay, i’m glad everything is back! But i did find an error, the updates and to-do list don’t go into the frame, they go into a new window. So you might wanna look at that.

  32. Lindy says:

You should see the sisters in the convent I work at. They walk so slow(because they are all very old) and usually 2 or more sisters walk together. I can’t even pass them when they are walking next to eachother. So annoying!
I can’t make photoalbums, I always stop after 20 photos. I takes too long to make them.

  33. Sarah says:

u should so go to the leavers’ dinner!:P

  34. Jo says:

Wow… I’d say the cement post lady takes the cake for Captain Obvious of the day  … I HATE people who walk really slow in the mall and grocery store, it drives me crazy!

  35. Sam says:

OMG. *lol* Just buy the freakin’ ice cream and discuss it at home! I too, if I have to foodshop just want to get in and out.

  36. David says:

Yay! Back to normal! I didn’t really like that water skin….the pin-up toon has better colors for me.

  37. ITT says:

LMFAO! That is a riot! “You don’t know where they’ve been!”

Yuh, I see people walk out the “entrance” almost every time I go to the store. Ain’t it grand to see people who just live life to have fun…. or to be stupid.

  38. Tina says:

It’s good to see Star-Girl back up!! :)

  39. Kayish says:

Rofl. Glad to see the site is working well again.

Thats alot of pictures you have there. You should buy a big picture frame and make a collage of your favorite pictures. =]

  40. Julie says:

Wow that’s some serious stupidity right there. I agree with you, stupid people suck. Being stupid should hurt. GAH.

  41. Xiu says:

lol, that sounds so annoying. I hate it when people walk so slowly in an aisle and they don’t let anyone else through. Wow, you have a ton of photos! lol, mine are all digital, but I still don’t have as many as you =P

  42. Thea says:

just wanted to say that I LOVE your site! come here everyday! its so helpfull and pretty!

  43. Katie says:

Lol. That supermarket thing…oh the stupidity of some people :D

  44. Lizzy says:

 That’s alatta pictures you have there Jenni! I was looking through some of mine for some baby photos and I could only find one with coffee stains on it ^__^ Not that it matters much. Keep up the great work!

  45. Taylor says:

I can’t stand people like that. They’re the picky ones…

  46. Rebecca says:

You aren’t too picky.. people really are stupid!

Sometimes, when I look at old photos I reminisce about the past and sometimes that goes on for hours.

  47. ~Cat~ says:

lol people can be soo stupid…. and the site looks awesome! I don’t see anything that doesnt work yet sooo yea! great job!

  48. Mike says:

I never found any dilemma at the grocery store but however, I seem to find trouble at the most RANDOM places. ;) As for the concrete posts, I am sure the mother meant “you don’t know whats been ON those”.

Cool idea purchasing a photo album for college. Whenever you start to miss it just look through the book and e-mail your buddies. :)

  49. Kat says:

I hate it when that happens to me in the supermarket. :grr:
And as for the mother telling her child not to touch the poles, thats just stupidity.
Thats a really good idea to compile a college photo album.

  50. ... says:

:grr: sites gone strange again! maybe dreamhost moved everything again? the top of the site looks like this:
