I didn’t get into Cambridge.
I found out yesterday, and as you can imagine my New Year wasn’t the greatest ever. Only 1 of my friends who applied got in.
My pride has been hurt and my already low self-confidence is now completely shattered.
I need some time to lick my wounds in peace, so I’m going on a semi-hiatus. I have exams soon anyway (not the best timing I know).

EDIT: ‘s blog reminded me I haven’t written down my resolutions. So here they are in all their glory:
1. Stop manipulating people – most of the time they don’t even realise I’m doing it, and it’s very addictive 
I’m not stopping for any good moral reason, mainly because it keeps backfiring on me haha.
2. Actually do some work in Andy’s and Pete’s lessons.
3. Work hard in college and get 4 As in August.
4. Lose half a stone (7 lbs)

I’m so sorry. From reading your blogs I know it meant alot to you to get in. But you know what, it’s their loss. They didn’t realise what a great, intelligent and funny (in the best sense) person you are. I hope you feel better about it soon and your going to do great in your exams.
Jenni. I don’t know what to say… As Emily said, it’s their loss. You will just have to prove them wrong and do well wherever you go (and then send them your amazing results to make them regret not accepting you). Try not to worry about it. xxx
oh man that really stinks. I know you worked really hard and had ambitions to get int. I wish you the best of luck with whatever God has in store for you. I think the hiatus is a much deserved break for you because you’ve been working really hard both on and offline.

sorr you didn’t get in, but you make it seem like the end of the world it isn’t. There are probably people reading this blog struggling to get into a college, let along a university so can you imagine how they feel?

Remember, whatevers happening, however bad you feel, theres always someone out there who’s getting it worse than you. Remember to keep your chin up high, ’cause you know that you rock, and just because some university (ok, so maybe not just ‘some’) didnt accept you it doesnt mean you arent good enough. You deserve a break, anyway

I understand how you must feel, but not everyone can get accepted and it’s just one of those things. You are smart, and they would be lucky to have you. Don’t take it badly, there are lots of others out there who would kill to have a student like you. *hugz*

Cambridge are excessively elitist anyway, getting into there is more about being able to say “I went to Cambridge” than neccesarily getting the best possible education in the country. Plus, if you’re smart you can succeed in whichever university you go to (unless it’s REALLY poor) and then you have a “rising from the ashes”-style story to tell people when you’re world renouned for whatever it is you choose to become world-renouned in.
I couldn’t agree with Jamie more. It’s sad, but not the end of the world. You’ll get into another university right? I mean, some people just can’t get into a university ever. Because they can’t get in, don’t have the money or whatever. And if only one of your friends got in, then obviously they don’t let many people in so why would your pride be hurt so much? I really don’t get it.
Omg I can’t believe you didn’t get into Cambridge! That’s awful! I would have felt the same if I didn’t get into one of my chosen universities… or was it your favourite? I remember your blog about it being very posh and that. But you’ll get into another one, won’t you? *Fingers crossed for good luck* I can’t stick to resolutions; I break them within the first day or something lol! This kinda happened to me when i was applying for secondary schools. I set my heart on this huge posh lovely one….and you had to live in a certain area, which I did, but I lived a few houses out of the selected pupils. I cried

Aw. Poor you. I didn’t have that great a new years either though. When my old baby sitter didn’t get into the university she wanted she tryed harder and then eventully she got into her 2nd choice school.

Why does everyone actually keep saying that it’s their loss and that they will now miss out on a smart and funny and blah blah person? Cambridge must’ve had some reason not to accept you. Not meant mean or anything, but people here are acting like Cambridge just made a silly mistake =/ Back to reality people, really. And if you don’t get into Cambridge, I’m sure you’ll get into something else. I sometimes read your blogs and your grades are great right? So there are people in the world who are worse off than you. You do have some backup universities right? So wait till you hear from them first I’d say. Not everything can go the way you want it in your life, remember that.
