Bridget Jones

I went to see Bridget Jones at the cinema yesterday. It was pretty good, and quite funny, but very predictable in some places. It was also a bit of a disappointment compared to the book, since they missed a lot of good scenes out and it seemed quite similar to the first film. If you haven’t read the books, you should really read them :)

I’m really nervous about my Cambridge interviews now, I’m going down on Sunday and it seems scarily near. I’m scared of saying either something really stupid or something really insulting – by accident of course. Still Luke, my English teacher, has spent a lot of his free time going through stuff with me and giving me mock interviews, and I’ve definitely got better (well, I could hardly be worse :P ). Just got to remember not to fiddle with anything and not to use colloquialisms.
I feel quite bad because I made a careers appointment to go over interview stuff…thought I’d booked for Thursday but I didn’t, it was Wednesday and I forgot about it, went to see Luke instead :neutral: That is really not like me, I don’t normally mess up things like that. Ugh :grr:
Still, to be honest, I think Luke’s practice is very helpful, because he’s an English teacher and it’s that part of the interview which I need to focus on the most. Also, we went to the Media Studies office, which is a very unfamiliar setting to me, and there was a teacher there I didn’t know, so that was better than doing it in a room I’m very familiar with, with one person I know quite well. I feel quite prepared, but I really need to go shopping!!!! My dad is kind of pissed off with me right now though because we were arguing about party arrangements (my birthday’s a week today people!!), so maybe I can persuade my mum to take me on Saturday. It will be annoying though because I would much prefer to go to The Trafford Centre, but she can’t drive and won’t go on the bus for an hour, so we’ll have to go into Stockport :hmm: I’ll be grateful if she takes me at all though…:S

    I saw it tonight! I though it was amazing! Hilarious :P Although, you’re right, a bit predictable in some places but I think thats because of her personality :) Good luck with your interviews. I’m sure you’ll do well :D Eeek! I need to buy Crimbo pressies.

    I saw Bridget a few weeks back, felt the same as you did..was pretty good for a sequel but you could see what was coming a mile off most of the time!!
    You’ll do fine with the interviews!

    I can’t wait to see Bridget Jone’s diary, I’ll read the book as well though :)

    Good luck with Cambridge interviews, there’s some really good sites that give you some good advice, you should check them out. And just be yourself :)

    I thought you had to get all A’s at AS level to even reach the interviews at Cambridge?

    I have neve seen those movies, but Renee is an awesome actress, so I’ve been meaning to. LOL… Sadly, I don’t even know what they are about though cuz I’ve never read the books.
