Mozilla Firefox

I just downloaded the latest version of Mozilla to see what the site looked like. To be honest, I thought it would look look much worse, since I never validate my coding or even bother to check what my layouts look like in different browsers. For those of you not familiar with Mozilla and web design…basically, if you code the slightest thing wrong, your site ends up looking like shit in Mozilla – that’s if it even works. But S-G.org seems to be pretty fine in it. The calendar doesn’t work at all, but I think that’s about it.
BUT I’m going to work hard to validate all the skins anyway. And then I’ll be able to put those spiffy little ‘Validated’ buttons on my site! Lol, no I’m really doing it so that I know everything is functioning properly ;)
Back to the general side of things, the topic of ‘Which Internet Browser Is Best’, is up there with euthanasia, abortion etc. People always clamour that Mozilla is so much better than IE but to be honest, the fact that coloured scrollbars don’t work is just really annoying. Pages look so…naked lol. Yeah, I know it’s a small thing. But to be honest, from what I’ve seen so far, IE and Mozilla are pretty similar. Apart from the fact that Mozilla is more secure, which is pretty important. In fact, I might start using it full time, since AOL is based on IE anyway, but doesn’t allow all the spyware, adware etc. to be downloaded.
So, which browser do you use? And do you have an opinion on the IE/Mozilla debate?
Sorry, this blog has been quite technical lol.
To Do: Validate CSS and HTML/PHP for all skins, code and add the 2 new skins I made, make PHP includes and fix all skins.
That’ll do to start with :)

i use M. Fire fox. I left why on SS. I had to get my host to help with making my site look better in it too. But S-G has always looked good to me!

  3. David says:

I use IE, but Mozilla is good too. Although the scrollbar thing does annoy me, and alot of sites look awful in it

  7. I use IE, but I have tried Mozilla too, but didn’t really like it for some reason… I like Opera better than Mozilla, but I’m not really sure about IE… And yeah, pages look dull and boring without the coloured scrollbars! And I can’t wait to see the new skins!

  8. Emily says:

I use IE, but Mozilla looks good so I might try that. Can’t wait to see the new skins! Cya!

  9. kathee says:

  10. Kat says:

Haha. Hooray for Jenni’s site. That’s a good deal :) Let’s see…I’ve never used Mozilla, but I have to say that I IE. I just doo.

  11. Megan says:

Mozilla really annoys me because of the scrollbars and the textareas not looking right, so I prefer IE. It doesn’t really surprise me that S-G.org looks fine, because it always looks good

  12. Trang says:

Aww. Your making me scared about how my site looks on Mozilla! lol.

  13. Holly says:

I have mozilla firefox, and your site looks fine. Even the calendar. I love firefox! I especially like the liquid plastic theme and the web developer extension. Anyways, your site looks fine. No different than IE.

  14. Dangie says:

Yipee cant wait to see the new skins!

  15. Ashley says:

Mozilla…hmm. I’m not a fan. The fact that colored scrollbars don’t work and that the image positioning is all…well, pretty much screwed up, irritates me. Welps, good luck with the skinning. :)

  16. Siv says:

I use both IE and Mozilla. It’s quite strange actually, for particular sites – Message boards, I like to use IE, but for other sites – personal, etc, I prefer Mozilla…unless it looks bad in Mozilla, I change to IE…but this site looks fine, the calendar is working fine too. :) But yeah, I like Mozilla, because instead of opening a page in a new window, you can open them in a new tab. :P

  17. Jessyta says:

Mozilla and IE both rock ! Mozilla can be quite annoying with some div layouts, but people says it’s more “powerful”. They’re both great and I’m find with using both.

  18. ~Cat~ says:

mozilla? never heard of it so I can’t put my two-bits in! But I guess I know how you feel about the colored scrollbars because my dad had IE5 and I didn’t so I was like “whoooaaa fun scrollbars! I wish I had that” soo yea… I donno…

  19. Britt says:

I use IE. I’d never heard of Mozilla before. I’m not going to use it though.

  20. Jean says:

I tested Mozilla on my sister laptop and I agree that when there’s not colored scrollbar the page looks “naked” lol. I prefer I.E. but the fact that Mozilla stops all kinds of nasty viruses and whatnot makes it more appealing. I need validate my site as well.

  21. Sylvia says:

I use FF & colored scroll bars don’t even matter,it’s the website that your sopost to noice not the scroll bars. Star-girl.org aways looked good in mozilla firefox ever sence I got it. Can’t wait for the new skins.

  22. Sylvia says:

I mean sence I got FF lol.

  23. Raquel says:

I quite like Firefox, but yeah, the scrollbar thing really irritates me.

  24. Nguyen says:

i’m using MyIE2 or now called Maxthon. Everything is ok in this browser. Its like Mozilla and Firefox browsers. Same functions.

  25. Super Martha says:

I like Mozilla Firefox!! The tabbed browsing is nice and you can set it to kill pop-up ads. . .I’ve never seen colored scrollbars. I think your site looks fine with just the gray scrollbars.

  26. Emma says:

    i don’t understand mozilla.

  27. ninique says:

I’ve been using firefox for a few weeks and I quite like it. I really love the tabbed browsing. . .and I sort of got used to the un-coloured scrollbars . . . And I downloaded the “view in IE” extention so if I’m on a site that looks like crap in FF, I can just right-click and select “view in IE” and it will open the page in Internet Explorer

I never bothered validating my layouts eighter. My current layout looks awful in FF, but I’m about to change it

  28. ITT says:

I hate Mozilla for that. Internet Explorer may not be the best, but it’s a browser I think everyone should use if all they have is Mozilla, because it shows up better.

  29. Kendra says:

Good point lol, but I don’t bother with things like mozilla, I just use IE .. :D

  30. Kiki says:

My uncle has mozilla, when i went to his house (he lives in California though lol) I used it…didn’t seem much different…but I don’t get along with Mozilla, he didn’t let my site work *sniff*

  31. Katie says:

Ugh, im trying to make my site okie with Mozilla right now :P
