Back for one blog entry…

Hi! Just thought I’d blog and tell you I’m still alive – just :( I had my first 2 exams yesterday (English Language) and they were awful. I thought Paper 1 was bad, but expected Paper 2 to be better.
It wasn’t.
The texts we had to write about had very little to do with the questions, and I had to really work to twist things round so I could write about them. I’m so mad because all the work I did, all the vocab. I learned, all the 35+ researchers (+ research and dates) that I spent weeks learning all went to waste. I didn’t get a chance to show what I know, and the most frustrating thing is, all the past questions we did for practice I could answer perfectly, some of which I actually ENJOYED. On top of that, the texts (especially the second one) were really badly written from an English Language point of view, which is totally stupid on the actual exam. It makes the exam board look stupid. Yeah, I know, life’s a bitch.
On top of that, I’m ill. I had a bad headache a couple of days ago, but that’s been replaced with hayfever, an itchy rash on my stomach and a sore throat. I can barely speak. So you can see I wasn’t actually in the right frame of mind to do exams in the first place, which is a shame because I thought the Eng. Lang. ones would be the easiest to do.
Hopefully they will have cleared up by the 7th June (2 English Lit. exams and 1 Geography), and then I just have History exams on the 10th. After that I will be back (and online) as much as possible till the 16th, because I don’t have to go back to college till then. In that time, I’ll be updating constantly and also putting the new layout up. I’ve been answering questions in the ‘Ask Me’ thing, and I’ve spent a couple of mins on Starstruck practically everyday, so I’m still around a bit even if you don’t see me :)
I’ve got a driving lesson tonight which should be fun, seeing as I can’t talk Last week I managed to drive home (with a LOT of help from Matt), and I managed to annoy a few hundred people lol.

    That exam really was awful, wasn’t it? I thought that the second paper was just a killer. I had no idea what to write. The board really couldn’t have chosen two worst texts, lol. Oh well, at least it’s over now.

    I know someone else who said they found that paper really hard, so you’re not the only one. It really does sound like a rubbish paper. But if everyone does rubbish maybe they’ll lower the grade boundaries?

    Aww Jenni, I’m sorry your exam didn’t go well! Don’t you hate it when you study study study and then you realized you studied something you didn’t really need? I’ve done that too many times to tell lol! I hope you get better soon, I just got over being sick too. My cat also had a seizure! It was soooo scary!     That’s awful about you being sick, I hope you can talk soon! The exams sound terrible but at least you’re done with them! I’m sure you couldn’t have done very bad.

    Oh I feel awful for you Jenni!!! Being sick is bad, it’s horrible enough to be sick period, even WORSE to have hayfever, even WORSE to be sick so close to summer break, and EVEN MORE AWFUL to be SICK, with HAYFEVER, in the SPRING, with EXAMS!!! I know because I was really sick last year with hayfever around exam dates, I fell your pain Jenni. Fell better soon, kay? Those exam manufacturers probably don’t have very good social lives, cuz otherwise why would they make exams so pointless? Well, good luck on your other exams, I start mine on friday!! Aghh!!!

    Oh well, at least those particular exams are over now, you don’t have to worry about doing them anymore. :)
    Hopefully you’ll get better really really soon so that you’re on top form. It would suck if you felt ill during them.

    Aww… hope you feel a lot better, Jenny! I’m sorry you didn’t do well on your exam. I had to take an Algebra A test for the 8th grade the other day, and I’m not sure I did well on my test etheir. :s Hopefully I passed and did well and so I can be in a high class when I get to high school next year. Exams and tests…. they all are really annoying! ..Well, take care Jenny!

    Oh that really sucks. Having to take exams AND being sick. :( I hate it when you’re about to take a test and you think it’ll be the easiest of all the tests you have to take and then it ends up being really hard. It makes you wonder if the other ones are going to be even harder. Well, good luck on the rest of your exams!

    Awww, yes, I have Year 11 friends who said English Lit. was hard, everybody thought they had failed. It isannoying when you learn stuff and it isn’t even on the paper. Awww, I hope you feel better soon, hayfever is awful, perhaps you should see a doctor for better medication. For my year 9 SATs, I know they don’t count but the English paper was also horrid….Well I hope you get amazing results :)
