Driving

I’m going on my first, proper, actually on-the-road-with-a-professional-driving-instructor driving lesson in 4 hours. I have managed to put it off since December, but now my dad is forcing me on the road *cough* Previously, I have used the driving school’s crappy “simulator” thing….it looks like a Sega racing arcade machine, but more “car-like”. And it was total crap, because to me it just felt like a racing game (but with one car lol). Then my dad gave me informal lessons in a car park – but I know hardly anything. Plus I managed to nearly kill several people, attract the attention of the police and half-wreck my car at least once.
As I said to my dad, the car should be suitable for left handed people (i.e. me)!! The steering wheel should be on the left (or possibly the middle) so you don’t bash into the curb, and the brake should be the left pedal instead of the right. He didn’t agree, but I know I’m right :) And for all you people going “huh??” right about now, I live in the UK where people drive on the left and have the steering wheel on the right (psychos). Actually, I was watching this programme where an American drove her American car in England, which had the steering wheel on the left. Maybe I should get an American car?
My stupid driving instructor (who I have not yet met but I know is called Matthew) has mailed me this list of driving lessons…I said I wanted weekends and preferably afternoons so I don’t have to get up at 9am…so of course he’s booked all my lessons for Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, which is when I’m in college and he’s even managed to choose times which I’m supposed to be in exams. Clever boy *applauds*.
So yeah, you probably won’t see me ever again after this since I bet he makes me “drive” on the road, in which case I will kill both of us in less than a minute. Not on purpose you understand. If I do survive, I’ll tell you how it went :)

    lol, good luck with the driving lessons. I’m sure you’ll be fine,and as for steering whell on the left, it restrictsyour vision if you are driving on the same side as the steering it restricts your vision, and american cars consume a lot of petrol and break down

    Hahaha, Jenni! Your sound like you are going to have a lot of fun with your driving lessons. Don’t worry about the part when you almost killed several people. The time when my sister was learning how to park properly, she almost killed me. lol I was supposed to stand at the place where she was suppose to park her car and signal to her when to stop. She did not stop when I gave her the signal and I couldn’t run, because behind me were walls and beside me were cars. I was like, “NONONO, SIS!”
    lol Don’t worry. I only got my toes crushed and went to the hospital. -.-;

    Driving lessons?! You should be happy! Once it’s all over and you’ve past your test, you’ll be able to drive anywhere! I’m 15 so I cant drive yet, and I dont think i’m going to be able to pass my test until I’m like 40 something!

    I’m sure you’re not that bad at driving. Your instructer does sound a bit stupid though, putting all your lessons on those days.

  16. Hillary says:

  18. Kat says:

    You guys wait until late to drive :P Tehee. Our age that we do that here is 15. Oh gosh. There goes accident-prone Jenni :) Haha. I’m left handed too. BUt I can handle a car pretty well. Or so I think. Well in the US the wheel is on the left :D What a dumb person. Hope you can reschedule those :P

  19. Whispering angel says:

    Lol, my brother is learning to drive too! I don’t know a lot (=nothing) about cars and no offence, but England has to do everything different. They use miles and inches and not € and stuff like that and the cars… But why should you buy an American car? It would be worse, because you have to drive at the other side and stuff…

  20. Rhiannon says:

    I hope it all goes well with your driving, then you can drive around making others who can’t jealous haha

  21. Krissy says:
