Mock Exam Results

You guys!! I can’t believe you even suggested I would be attracted to Matt! He’s too old for me, for a start :(
Anyway, back to the happy news.
The happy news of today is – my mock exam results!!
(History: Russia in Revolution, English Language (Paper 1), English Lit. Wise Children – not been marked yet)
English Language (Paper 2) – A
English Lit. Carol Ann Duffy – A (16/20)
English Lit. Restoration Comedy – A (19/20)
Yay!! I got my Restoration Comedy paper back today (the others earlier in the week), and my jaw literally dropped. Luke (my teacher) has NEVER given me more than 15/20 (a B) before, and he always gives Tom and Emma the best marks (no offence to either of them, I love them to bits. And Tom, incidentally, is a member of Starstruck). I was too shocked to be happy – I always assumed Luke didn’t like my writing style (I tend to get As for Eng. Lit. from my other teacher), and I didn’t think my essay was that great. The conclusion was a bit sloppy because I ran out of time. But yay, I’m so happy now. I almost even like Luke now . Even though he was wearing his rainbow jumper today *cough*. I don’t mean a brightly coloured jumper (although it is). I mean a jumper with a huge rainbow on it. I swear it dates back to the 70s.

Adults’ View of a Teenage World & First Driving Lesson

I was reading this article (yeah I know it’s old) and it just seemed really strange the way that Internet cliques, something we all take completely for granted, are given a completely different twist when written about by an adult. To be honest, I don’t think that that guy got a very good perception of them but oh well. *shrugs*
You may have noticed something – that I am still alive!! :) Yay go me! Matt is really nice although my dad totally embarrassed me by asking loads of questions when he got to my house because Matt is (probably) in his early twenties and my dad doesn’t trust anybody under 40, especially not if he’s a driving instructor. Matt was really laid back (literally, he drives practically lying down lol) and he’s just as strange as me. Possibly stranger, because he has a tongue piercing. It was good actually, because I figured he’d be some old guy wearing a suit and a mean look, and Matt figured I’d think that so it worked out well all round. He said we’d be going to a ‘quiet nearby housing estate’. Nearby to me is like 5 minutes max. Nearby to him was nearly half an hour. I didn’t do too badly and I didn’t stall the car which is a bonus :) However, we (he) got lost getting back to my house as he knew where we were but not where my house was and it was vice versa for me. We ended up driving round some random place until he got the A-Z out to find the way back, lol. So yeah, I think driving lessons will be much more fun than I thought they would be; Matt has a great personality and he’s the sort of person I get on with easily.

Driving

I’m going on my first, proper, actually on-the-road-with-a-professional-driving-instructor driving lesson in 4 hours. I have managed to put it off since December, but now my dad is forcing me on the road *cough* Previously, I have used the driving school’s crappy “simulator” thing….it looks like a Sega racing arcade machine, but more “car-like”. And it was total crap, because to me it just felt like a racing game (but with one car lol). Then my dad gave me informal lessons in a car park – but I know hardly anything. Plus I managed to nearly kill several people, attract the attention of the police and half-wreck my car at least once.
As I said to my dad, the car should be suitable for left handed people (i.e. me)!! The steering wheel should be on the left (or possibly the middle) so you don’t bash into the curb, and the brake should be the left pedal instead of the right. He didn’t agree, but I know I’m right :) And for all you people going “huh??” right about now, I live in the UK where people drive on the left and have the steering wheel on the right (psychos). Actually, I was watching this programme where an American drove her American car in England, which had the steering wheel on the left. Maybe I should get an American car?
My stupid driving instructor (who I have not yet met but I know is called Matthew) has mailed me this list of driving lessons…I said I wanted weekends and preferably afternoons so I don’t have to get up at 9am…so of course he’s booked all my lessons for Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, which is when I’m in college and he’s even managed to choose times which I’m supposed to be in exams. Clever boy *applauds*.
So yeah, you probably won’t see me ever again after this since I bet he makes me “drive” on the road, in which case I will kill both of us in less than a minute. Not on purpose you understand. If I do survive, I’ll tell you how it went :)
